The theme of my essay hinges on me being able to start a club

Hey guys,

For at least one of my prompts I wanted to write about video games and how they have affected me for the better. The general points would be:

-I was homeschooled until almost Junior High, videogames helped me make my first real friends

-I was very competitive, and my drive to become better at games taught me work ethic and study habits(I would watch pros, practice certain mechanics, etc)

-Throughout my life videogames kept me and my friends connected and no matter what was going on in our lives whenever we were feeling down we always had each other to hop online and play games with

I wanted to conclude the essay by showing how I used my love for videogames to help others in the same way by creating a video game club. This club would have had tournaments and generally serve as a fun competitive community to make friends and improve in. However, our first proposal was turned down(admin said that video games were too violent?) We “appealed” its creation, but I am not very hopeful.

Is there anything I could do to save this theme?

If anyone is interested, we wrote a club proposal that outlines what our club would have done. I can PM you if you want.

I don’t think you necessarily have to start a club in school to round out the essay well! But see if there’s something similar that you can join or start outside of school, because it doesn’t sound like your school’s admin will chance their minds.
