About what you’d expect. Really, the top 20 on the list are all good, though.
This is another ranking where #6 and #17 (really, all schools from #3 to #20) could easily switch places switch places with each other.
Wow Business Insider readers! I’m sure they can assess the quality of a school since these people surely have the expertise needed to evaluate the program strengths of Purdue versus San Francisco State.
This ranking isn’t too bad, but it seems to rely too much on the opinion of “outsiders” and on SAT scores. UIUC at #20, Purdue at #21 and UT-Austin at #25 while Harvard at #8, Duke at #9, Yale at #14 and Vanderbilt at #22 are all outliers.
I like this list but agree with @Alexandre that these 3 (UIUC at #20, Purdue at #21 and UT-Austin at #25) should be higher up… slight bias towards well known names/privates.
Yeah there are some problems with this list. From what I’ve read, some of the top schools like Duke and Yale are really slacking on CS when compared to other smaller names. UW should be much higher (at least top 10), as should Rice. Also RPI’s ranking is definitely too high. But it is a pretty decent rough outline I’ll admit.
@bringit1, as I have said before, rankings may give an illusion of vast difference when there is none or little. IMO, #3-#20 on that list are interchangeable in their ordering.
And why would you say USC engineering is better than RPI?
