The UCLA Transfer FAQ

If you get accepted to UCLA, i know that the final transcript is due on JULY 11th, 2011.
but does anybody know if UCLA actually lets you extend the date for special circumstances? because my transcript won’t be ready till maybe the beginning of aug.
thanks :)

I saw this as a requirement on the UCLA website:
Four transferable college courses in at least two of the following subject areas: arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, physical and biological sciences.

If I complete the IGETC, that’s taken care of right? thanks in advance!

^ Yeah, similarly, I’m at a UC. Will completing the GE’s here take care of it?

Completing IGETC will meet all of the general ed requirements.

Comments: Had 2 Ws in college career both were in high school

My friend got in with a 2.9 as a Women’s Studies major… (Sat, April 25, 2009)

I got into UCLA last year (April 23, 2010) as a LAS major with a 3.0.

But I screwed up and got my decision revoked. :frowning: So I am giving it another try this year with a 2.9 as a Chicano Studies major. I hope to hear good news back soon! :confused:

Anyone have any comments? Have you heard of people being re-admitted? HELP!!!

323, if you dont’t mind sharing, why was your admission revoked?
Good luck!

Sorry I just read it was for UCLA transfer, so could someone at least give me my chances of UCLA and Berkeley, please

I had a provisional contract and did not meet it. I got 2 C’s. Yet that semester I was taking 16 units at my CC, 5 at UCLA, and working. So 21 units in total. My schedule was super intense.

I regret it, but hey! I believe in second chances and if UCLA accepted me the first time then hopefully they will again this year. GO BRUINS! :smiley:

Good luck to everyone! And stop panicking!

^ 323GUY - do all accepted students have a provisional contract? or yours was specific to your situation because your GPA was at the cusp of 3.0? good luck this year :]

Contracts vary! It all depends on your educational plan. For example my other friend got in with a 2.9 and on dropped a class during spring so she was put on a contract to get all B’s and retake that class during summer.

Another girl got in as a pre-psych and did not complete one pre-req and still got admitted!

I am seriously am not trying to discourage or scare anyone. I am just saying it what it is. Good luck to all of us and instead of worrying about the decisions lets hit the books, and no I don’t mean facebook. lol

@pyoro1

Thank you! I hope so too! :slight_smile: Is your gpa low too? I think what got me in last year was my long list of EC and scholarships as well as experience in the major, but UCLA got hundereds of more applications this year so it might be harder! :/Good luck to you too.

I’ve been accepted as a transfer but am having trouble contacting anyone about advising because I haven’t SIRed yet (because I want to clarify class requirements first!)

I know the IGETC covers UCLA’s general education requirements…but the College of Letters and Science has their own general education requirements. Does the IGETC cover this or do I need to take additional courses?

Thanks :)

I’ve been accepted from UCSB but had to submit a change of classes for this quarter because I changed a math class to a bio class and switched asian american studies courses…I figure that shouldn’t be a problem, but will my winter '11 grades be factored in now that I’m being reviewed again?

Any of you guys can help me out with this scenario? I recently got admitted to UCLA and dropped a class that wasn’t even required for my major (I got accepted for Chemistry/Materials Science) and doesn’t affect my 60-unit cutoff, so I reported the changes online and sent it to them. Do you think I will get my admission rescinded? I heard that it’s fine if the class isn’t a pre-req or required for 60 units/IGETC. Any advice would be highly appreciated

futurebruin1,

It won’t matter. Don’t worry about it or lose sleep over it.

Thanks alot. I was just super nervous because I had dropped this class, but I notified them and let them know that it wasn’t even listed as a requirement for my major according to ASSIST.org. I was worried that my admission would be rescinded as a result of this. :S

So i just got accepted to UCLA as a Jr Transfer Student. I’m 20 Years old and have Already done Two years at A 4 years school (university of Oregon) and I’m looking for the Best off campus apartments to get into the social scene. I am extremely confident in being able to handle the work load regardless of were i live, so i want to put my self in the most “fun” living situation as possible. I’m new to the LA area and have limited connects at UCLA and even less knowledge of the social scene, I’m pretty much looking for some one to throw me a bone. So Riddle me this? if I’m trying to have the best possible time putting academics aside which off campus apartments have the best social reputations and were do i find roommate listings?

Btw, I got in!!! Yay!!! :)

@323GUY You got in with a 2.9GPA?
