<p>I originally wanted to write a new commonapp essay to replace my old one (~700 words or so) since it apparently didn't cut it at the Cornell admissions office. However, it seems that I cannot write more than 350 words on the subject while using my current writing style. If I could lengthen it, perhaps I will use it to replace the older essay. If not, it will probably serve as a supplement essay for my Harvard application :) (There's no way in hell that I'll get in, but still, its worth a try)</p>

<p>With that being said, this one is unlike most essays that you see these days (in my opinion, at least). For those of you who are religious, I used 1 Corinthians 13 as a jumping off point. It is slightly similar to a stream of consciousness essay. The writing style is intentional; it is not due to extremely poor writing skills. The essay cannot be taken at face level; every paragraph conveys a deeper meaning (Do adcoms like to think?)</p>

<p>If anyone wants to critique it, feel free to ask. However, I would prefer it if no 08ers looked at it.</p>

<p>I'll take a look, although to answer your question: No. They like to read quick and get a sense of your voice and who you are.</p>

<p>I'm intrigued. PM it over and I'll take a look. I'm sort of on the fence between nretni and muse though... adcoms are smart people who like to think, but still, they read an awful lot of essays and they don't really have time to do a full analysis of each of them...</p>

<p>I'd love to read it if you want to PM it over! I would recommend making it unique enough so that it stands out, but not so cryptic so that adcoms can't understand it. But that's probably obvious.</p>

<p>I'm an 08er so if you don't want to send it to me, it's fine, but I hope it goes well because stream of consciousness can be dangerous. If you get good reviews, then keep it, but if it's too risky then avoid it. It'll probably get you attention, though. Good or bad, I dunno.</p>
