The Ultimate Interview

I know that freshman applicants can get interviews to colleges, but does this also apply to transfers? I have no clue.
A very close family friend is a alumni interviewer at Yale. I thought because we knew each other I could not request her as an interviewer. She was very upset when she found out because she specifically joined the program to help great students in her area get accepted to Yale (not saying I'm a great student..she just likes me a lot/thinks im a 'good kid'..long story). I know interviews don't count that much, but I wonder if it would help if i got to interview with her as a transfer...just curious.
I know she'd write me an excellent letter. I've almost known her all my life. She could write it now and it'd be great. She's a lawyer/amazing writer..I wish I had gone to her sooner for help. sigh.

And yes, I know a great interview will not guarantee my acceptance, ESPECIALLY since I will try to transfer nxt year. But it would help I'm sure.

^ Why not get involved at her law firm or something for work/extra-curricular experience, and then have her submit a recommendation about how you are in the work place, and as an individual?
