<p>First, skrew all this "recent rock" and "british pop rock". Stop jocking MTV and that kid at school whose music opinions you mimic cause you think he's punk. I wanna hear it all. I also wanted to post something with ULTIMATE in the subject header. So what's the best rock of all time? There are no stupid answers, just stupid people. Well, except for the Who and the Grateful Dead. Those are stupid answers.</p>
<p>Me, I'm into the Ramones right now. And the soundtrack from Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Find the songs and download them and tell me it doesn't rock through and through.</p>
<p>I am a child of the 80's and I am still convinced that the period of hair metal between 1986 up to Nirvana era was THE best time for rock. Think Def Leppard, Motely Crue, GnR, Poison, Warrant, Ratt, Quiet Riot and the like. I LOVE that ship. (substitute "T" for "p")</p>
<p>What's wrong with The Who? Tommy is a great CD.</p>
<p>Er, I really like the metal from the 80s. Iron Maiden is a favorite of mine, and Megadeth is good. Operation: Mindcrime by Queensryche is an AWESOME CD! I recommend it fully.<br>
On a more recent front, I really enjoy Opeth; Blackwater Park is one of the best CDs I have heard in a while. Try Damnation by them if you're more timid.<br>
I used to listen to Bad Religion a lot, but my punk phase seems to be over. I saw them in concert this past summer though, and they rocked.
Devo is a good band too. Try Smart Patrol / Mr. DNA (one song).<br>

<p>The main problem with the who is that they don't know when to end a song. I'm not saying that there aren't a few good songs by them, but in general, you can do better. the dead...never good, no excuses. </p>
<p>music from commercials can be very, very good. the new Canon digital camera commercial sounds and looks like it would be awsome to watch on LSD. it's pretty cool without drugs too.</p>
