Ok guys, I’m an auto-admit but I got rejected from Cockrell and McCombs. Should I just try and get into Economics on the 26th? Would that give me similar classes as a Business major (I was intending on specializing in Finance). I’m still planning on attending UT. I’m just so heartbroken right now.
Anyone know how the wait list work?? When should i hear back for it?
Son denied from ECE. Second choice Computer Science. OOS. ACT: 31. UW. 3.95 W: 4.3. Thought essays and EC were good, if not great. Has acceptance from UIUC, and T A & M for Computer Engineering. He is heartbroken though since this was his top choice. Perhaps, we should have give undergraduate college as second choice.

Son was admitted to CS Tonight. In state. Auto Admit. #8 in class of 350ish. Top 2%. All AP and Honors Coursework plus 30 hours of College course credit. Varsity Athlete 4 years. Leadership, service and academic awards. 1990 SAT 30 ACT. Good essays!

Instead of denying me straight up for mccombs, they said they can’t accept me At this time and that I could transfer. Is this helpful in any way? Does this go in their file?
To be clear they’re not accepting me undergrad. So it’s not like a deferral I think. Idk. Can someone please elaborate

My daughter was declined tonight for Asian Studies major. We’re OOS Her stats are:
2130 SAT (1350 Math and Verbal)
3.75 unweighted GPA

Varsity x country runner and several other EC’s
9 AP classes and multiple Honors classes
Best essay she wrote for her college applications
No teacher recs
High school stopped providing class ranks senior year but rank at start of Jr. Year = 14 out of 450
Very very disappointed but congratulations to all those who have been accepted!
