I am literally about to just withdraw my UT application.

@cappex You are applying to one of the most competitive majors at UT. You will know you by March. There really isn’t much you could do differently knowing now versus February anyway. I agree it is irritating to be auto admit and still waiting for a major but a very small percentage of people have gotten their majors at this point. Hang in there.

Anyone know when I could expect a decision for the nursing major? Everything was submitted by November 22nd. I assumed everyone got notified on March 1st like their website says, but I’ve also seen posts on here from people who have already gotten a decision.

@futurenurse717 I believe a majority of those already with decisions applied priority- before 10/15.
UT seems to send out multiple ‘rounds’ of decisions- before the break, January, & February. The latest one will know is March 1.

Just FYI, my son applied on August 23rd for ECON major and LAH/PlanII. Even though he submitted so early there’s no guarantee of a decision prior to mid to late December, and really only for just the college acceptance. I’m writing this and reading this for myself as well. It will happen when it happens and no sooner, no matter how many times I yell at my computer and/or mail person!! Good luck and hang tough everyone.

Again, any acceptances from School of Architecture so far?

Can someone please clarify how people earlier on in this thread have already received their admissions decisions? I thought all of them were sent out in March…Thanks for your help!

@Vandy12020 I think for instate auto admits who applied early and who UT knows will meet the selection criteria for their respective choice of major , they send out admission decisions in mid November. From what I can tell most who got decisions also applied by the various honors program deadlines, even if they did not get a decision about the honors program. From what I have read on CC, UT sends out admission decisions in waves with a big one in mid February and all decisions are made by March 1.

They do not let everyone know at one time.

@Vandy12020

I am an OOS that was accepted into the School of Engineering. I got my decision earlier this month just by checking MyStatus, I then received my official letter in the mail like last week.

Pretty sure UT is rolling, so it is my belief that the earlier you applied to earlier they will review + decide.

@sarangooL UT isn’t rolling.

Yes, it is.

“waves”…“rounds”… what ever you name it- it amounts to ‘rolling’.

Also- specifically from Common Data Set: “Rolling basis beginning in the Fall for the following year’s Fall semester admission. All decisions communicated no later than 03/01.”

I think this difference is important though- the round you are notified of your MAJOR has very little to do with when you applied. Your choice of major and your AI/PAI scores are going to determine which wave you are notified in. While the people who have gotten major decisions applied before October 15, that in no way indicates that someone who applied before October 15 who has not gotten their major is not going to get it. If you read last year’s thread, many people who were auto admitted in September were notified of acceptance to Cockrell, McCombs, etc. in February.

I applied on or around October 25 and received my admission a few days later, my major a week after that, and my LAH acceptance a few days ago.

We are oos, my son is applying to school of engineering and submitted everything by 10/8. He is also applying to the honors program. It is showing “complete/on time” in his MyStatus portal and has been “in review” for a while now. I am wondering may be his stats is not high enough that’s why we have not heard back yet. ACT: 31, GPA: 3.97 UW, 11APs, good ECs, rank: top 5%.
@sarangooL since you are oos and have been accepted, would you please share your stats? Thanks!

You’ll get a notification in the mail before the update to MyStatus.

@sunbeams UT looks at the ACT math and English/Writing combined scores. So depends on your son’s scores for those and not just the total. Along with class rank for his AI score. Essays, ECs and other circumstances for PAI.

@sunbeams

Hi sunbeams I’d be happy to share my stats with you:

My honors is still pending as well

@SirPepsi

Really? I never got an email, I just checked MyStatus one day and it was there. Also my actual physical acceptance letter came in like almost a week after MyStatus updated.
