The waitlist

I was wondering if anyone has any news on the developments of the waitlist. Does anyone know how many people are on it yet? If so how many people are they taking off it? I know the IU waitlist is largely unknown in terms of its numbers but I was wondering if anyone who got accepted or has any "inside" information could give me an update.

Indiana Univ has been very tight-lipped about their waitlist up until now. They have only had a waitlist since figuring admissions for the 2006-2007 year, and they've included no numbers in their common data set for either of the past two years.

Maybe someone else who is on it--or who has successfully gotten admitted off it will post here and help you out a bit.

I posted that my son was on the list. He was asked to let them know if he was still interested, but I don't think he ever responded so I guess we'll never know. He just isn't interested in the school. Sorry.

There is an article on the waitlist in the current Indiana Daily Student. Here is a key quote: "Anderson said the average GPA of incoming freshmen for IU has risen to between a 3.5 and 3.6. The average ACT score is a 25 to 26. The average SAT combined critical reading and math score is 1200.

Students have a much lower of a chance of coming off the waitlist than they did last year, Anderson said. A student’s likelihood of being admitted from the waitlist is about one in three, according to the report." IU admission standards increase

I know the person who was featured in the article!!! she was so upset about being wait listed!!

So does IU have a large waitlist this year ?
