Congratulations! You must be so proud of her! It has to great to see her complete this very important step in her career!

Congratulations to BookieDD!

Big, big congrats!!

Congrats to bookiemom’s D.

YAHOOOOO for Bookiemom’s daughter!!! So happy to hear the wonderful news!

Kat

In other news, my D is home yeah! but keeping to an intense Step 2 study schedule Boo!. Still , it’s good she’s home. I just like having her here. :)

Congrats Bookiemom!

Curm, even though Step 2 has her main attention now. I’m sure her being there means a lot.

Is she planning to take her step 2 in Houston (this is the patient diagnosis right?). I see a lot more people showing up to Houston because it is considered to have a higher pass rate.

There are four Steps:
1 is the most important and most famous, usually taken after MS2.
2CK is “clinical knowledge,” a standardized test very similar to 1 but easier and less important, usually taken sometime during MS4.
2CS is “clinical skills,” in which a student is put into a simulated clinic and examined based on interactions with standardized patients, also usually taken sometime during MS4. This is offered only at a handful of sites around the country: Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Houston. Chicago fills up FAST.
3 is another standardized test, generally taken sometime during residency.

The New England Journal has just called for the cancellation of Step 2CS:
http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMp1213760

Big Congrats to bookiemom and D!!!

Mine has just put Step 1 behind her. At least she can think of the next (residency) location with some kind of input inro the process.

Mine is getting 2CK out of the way and somewhat early I guess. lol Figures. And fits with her history.

She has 2CS scheduled in Philadelphia later this summer.

Could they cancel CS BEFORE DD has to fly some where far away, pay for a hotel & rental car AND pay some huge amount for the test? IIR, it was about $2000 to register for the two step 2 exams. It’s as much a cash cow as the College Board and all the repeat SATs.

bookiemom,

Congrats to all. You must be soooo proud!

Totally OT. Can someone send me the Passive/Aggressive directions to our bulletin board game? ;)

HELLO WORLD!

Guess who is done with step 1 and slowly acclimating to real life/not doing qbanks all the time?!

That would be me.

lol. I was just thinking of you! Knew you had to be heavy into Step hell.

^ Congrats, Kristin - it’s a good feeling, isn’t it?
It’s all (pretty much) downhill from here…

Good for you, Kristin!

Well done, Kristin!

Yay, kristin!

Isn’t it a relief?
