Im sick of all this crap I see today. I just watched the early morning show and they were talking about how you should limit the amount of candy and even give them toys or baseball cards instead. How dumb is that. I remember when me and my friends would dump our huge pillow cases on the floor and brag about who got the most candy. then we would eat it all right there. It was some of the best times in my childhood, and now they want to take it away. Give me a break. It seems like kids now days are just going to be raised like perfect angels. They will have absolutely no learning experiences or any fun.

Yeah, but it'll backfire. The kids will become more rebellious and do even crazier things.

Welcome to the nanny state.

It's one freaking night. One night of unlimited candy is not going to make every trick-or-treater obese. Jeez. I used to discard like 2/3 of all the candy because it was gross. Plus, they're just tiny little fun size candys, not giant bars!

Once someone gave me a granola bar. I tried to eat it, but it was, well, needless to say, I didn't finish it.

Soon states will outlaw halloween to curb childhood obesity instead of spending more on afterschool activities to get kids active instead of sitting on the couch.

^Very true. Candy will soon require an ID to confirm you are 18 years of age or older.

Eh, nostalgia blurs the reality of the past- yeah everything seems like 'the shlt' once its over- my childhood was nirvana, HS was the shlt, o those college days. All that happens is you go from one set of problems to another, then look back and say dam better times. It's bs. Ur candy days were not as good as you now believe they are

^lol .

that's why the world is going to hell? I was hoping for something alot bigger, like a big scandal or something lol.
But, yea, it is sort of unfair to kids. (I puked all the candy I got on my first Halloween...it was a HUGE amount. but fun!)

I think that candy is overrated.

candy is the reason why children go on living. They can't help themselves.

Wait a sec, you're speaking to a former child, here (I graduated from childhood just a little while ago :)), and candy certainly wasn't the reason that I went on living.

The world is finally going to HELL.

Well thats encouraging. :)

"finally"? It's almost like you've been looking forward to it, op.

I don't think it's a big deal. Kids don't rely on candies to survive or anything of that matter. Candy is merely another sweet treat that makes kids happy. I don't think banning candy is a dumb thing at all, in fact if candies affect kids' health and do more damage than good, I'd rather have it banned. Remember that there're so many other things that make kids happy, too...

banning candy is really not that big of a squealing deal...

the whole concept of "banning" it is wrong. It's not a drug or some kind of painfully sour alcoholic drink. It's CANDY! In small amounts, candy is perfectly healthy. Banning it is a dumb idea.

I recently read about an elementary school that banned any sports that might get a child hurt, including tag and dodgeball. I'll try to find the exact name of the school later.

For god's sake, kids can't be kids anymore.

^ I agree.

Seriously...if the kid eats like a billion calories a day...it's the parent's fault. Get over yourself; control yourself.

Don't screw it up for the rest of us because you don't have self-control.

:-D

If kid's health is such a big deal that they have to ban candy and sports, they hould just put all the kids in completely empty rooms with no contact with the outside world. That's sure to keep them safe.
