The Writing section and retakes

I took the ACT a few months ago and received a composite score of 28 (M:32, E:24, R:29, S:27, W:12). I will absolutely be retaking the test this upcoming year but I have one conundrum. I received a perfect on my writing, which, while I know it doesn't affect the composite score, does seem like it could be important. So what I am asking is this: If I retake the test can I not take the writing section this time and still have my scores acknowledged by those colleges that require the writing scores, assuming I turn the scores in separately? And can I turn those scores in separately? Or is it included with the test I took it with? Thanks for the help.
