Hello! I am a freshman in college right now studying theater, but I don't feel like the program I'm in is for me. It's a small private college with a very small dept. I am pretty sure I want to transfer school asap. What are the best theater programs that don't look at grades as much as talent? I had a 3.3 in high school and this semester i will be lucky if i get a 3.0.. I'd prefer a bigger school either in la or ny area. Im near la right now but in a small town and its a great school don't get me wrong its just not really for me.

Well I’ve heard (but I could be wrong here) that UCLA put more emphasis on the audition/talent than they do grades. That goes for their acting program. As for technical & design, that might not be true.

Ball State University accepts transfers, and its a state school, so the bar isnt set incredibly high. Amazing theatre program though. BFA’s (by audition) and BA’s in all aspects of theatre.
