ACCEPTED! the mailman said he felt like working today, on a beautiful sunday and he brought this big acceptance package from USC. YES~

Congrats! What does your status say now?

kev where do you live?

you guys, it was a joke. i thought you would get the sarcasm. post office are closed on Sundays. ![]()
i just wanted to break the ice of all this tension and stress going on.
everyone will get in! we will all be TROJANS!

rodney, I applied to Arts&Sciences (or whatever they call it at USC) and was asked for midyear grades. I’m still on the “We have received midyear grades” status, from NJ. At least I got out of prelim review! But it would still be nice to have SOME indication as to what is going on! 33 ACT 4.35 GPA and still nothing…

:-(

hahahaha. i got the joke :)

I WANNA GO TO USC.

Oh, I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you’re dead to me now… XD.

Coincidentally, my neighbors the postmaster guy and he gives us random coupons and recently, campaign stuff. Which has nothing to do with anything, but it reminded me of that.

I read your post Kev and was like, “Yeah right!” My postman hates me. xD

veggiehead:
thanks for the post…yups, we are there too…I’m just a little concerned about this taking until April 1st, and having to plan a trip to CA on short notice…Hopefully, we’ll hear one way or the other soon…

p.s. I’m a bit surprised you haven’t been admitted yet…your stats are really strong for arts & sciences…

My D applied as a Comm major. She was asked for midterm grades in her “sorry no scholarship” letter dated 2/12. The interesting thing about this is that she’s been in the “being reviewed/April 1” status since 2/7. Which leads me to believe that they wanted her grades to further evaluate her after prelim.

Rodney, if you are coming to socal, try to fly into Long Beach if that’s available in your area - much easier than LAX!

i started the mail on sunday thing x.x

Blegh.

i read the whole thing in the first pages over and over again but I’m still confused about my situation:

my status changed early february to “we have received”… and has not yet changed since. what does that mean??

does that mean im in the deny pile?

I wrote on my app that I was going to apply to the TAP program and I never did cause I got angry at USC. <- i bet that’s going to affect my application..

I should just give up now.

My berkeley regent interview is on Saturday, woohoo, so I will just focus on getting a scholarship from there..

So I applied to the School of A&S and they asked me for midyear grades around the middle of February (2/19). Hopefully I’m in the admit+ category (3.9 GPA, 2230 SAT), but I’m worried since they haven’t sent me anything yet.

Doesn’t it suck that the people who wait the longest have to get the bad news?

^ If the theory holds true then the admit + wave has already passed, since there have been 2 waves so far. Not putting you down of course, as our stats are very similar!

We have all been thinking there was one wave so far. How do you know there were two waves?

pinkellow- 1 scholarship wave + 1 normal wave= 2 total waves

StanEda224- I definitely meant admit-, haha.

tomwkomd

your postmaster neighbor gives you coupons and campaign stuff

LOL

that post just made my life

I am almost sure there will be another “admit-” wave. I mean, the people who were scholarship nominees were a mere fraction of the people 'SC intends to accept. I doubt they would proceed to send the rest of the no scholarship admits in one wave as well. Maybe there will be 1 - 2 more before rejections come. At least, I hope.

Yeah, not regular mail, but whenever we go over he’s like “Yeah take this booklet of carpet samples to your mom.” It’s not like he hoards junk mail, but he just has them for some reason.

Anyway, I’m gonna wait til April 1, and if it comes before that, it comes and I’ll be happy.

So basicaly its been:

1st wave: scholarships

2nd wave: regular applicants with extremely high stats that are for sure in (admit+)

3rd wave: (admit-)

So the third wave is to come maybe some time this next coming business week?
