I was doing my housing application when I saw that they had my sex as male when i am actually female. They also gave me the wrong middle name. I faxed the NYU Housing with the corrections, but they have yet to respond or make any changes. So I submitted my application anyway, in case they don't respond before the June 2 deadline. What should I do, I mean it would be soo weird if I ended up on a all-male floor.

Not at all (I am sure an all male floor would love to have a female in their ranks)

I'm sure they wouldn't do that to you. I would give Housing a call on Tuesday (after the holiday weekend) and see if you can speak to somebody so you can get a better idea of how to fix your situation.

I don't think there are single sex floors. My son's next door neighbors were girls. there is only supposed to be one sex per room or suite though :-)

Do get it corrected so you are placed correctly.

There are NO single-sex floors. All housing is co-ed.

they have mixed sex rooms at waterstreet

Yeah, but you have to apply for them.

I had the same problem. I called them about it and here is what they said to do:
1. Send an email to housing about it
2. Send an email to the registrar about it.

They can change if for you then. Hope that helps!

banapie,
same thing happened to my daughter,
she called and faxed over what they requested. They suggested that she send the application thru anyway to make the deadlines. We also called the admissions office, because that is where she is also listed as a male. Also she went on the forum and posted it to the admissions people.

They do have mixed sex rooms on Water Street, but only for upperclassmen and only if you request them with a specific person. You should get this done correctly though, since I know someone who actually placed in a room of guys for a week before she transfered out.
