I was just thinking about this. At my school, there's a lot of things we can't bring (matches, swords, things that look like swords, pocketknives, etc.). At boarding school, are you allowed to bring those type of things that you can't have a public/day school? I know they must allow you to bring some things (for example, at my school I can't bring my foil (a type of fencing sword), but I would be able to a boarding schools that have fencing), and you obviously wouldn't bring other things (like a gun or something), so where do they draw the line? I'm not worried about safety, just about what I could bring. :D

I'm sure when you get accepted they'll send you a school handbook or something. I know you can upload the St. Paul's Student Handbook on their website. Take a look if you want.

Thanks, Jonathan! This is excellent. If I got St. Paul's I think I can keep my penknife, pockethandwarmer, and sword. :D

Yeah, you have to look at the school's handbook, but I'm pretty sure in most cases swords with a sharp blade, knives, and any cutting tool that doesn't have a guard like a letter opener or scissors will either be taboo or you will have to have it stored in a sealed box until you leave campus, which is practically the same thing. Fencing swords and some pocket knives will be allowed, and blunt sword like items probably as well (unless its a bludgeon, in that case no it will not).

That's all right; my pocket knive is not terribly dangerous. Not daggar for fighting or anything. The sword I have is a blunt sword, too. You'd more likely to hurt someone if you threw it at their head than if you tried to stab them. :D

So I can walk around campus with a sword? :D

poke Give me that differential calculus book poke
