Swiss army knife and school rules

Is it ok to bring one to my high school ? I find mine really useful with scissors, pen, tweezers, toothpick, and a 2 and 1/4 inch blade can I bring it? I want to have it on my key ring I do not get the school rules could someone tell me if I can the link shows the rules :

<a href="http://www.edgemont.org/www/edgemont/site/hosting/BOE%20Policies/Code%20of%20Conduct%209-21-11.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.edgemont.org/www/edgemont/site/hosting/BOE%20Policies/Code%20of%20Conduct%209-21-11.pdf</a></p>

The best person to ask would be school administrators. Rules vary from school to school. In any case, don’t suddenly pull it out of your pocket or something, especially if you have a trigger-happy school cop :p.

IMO, don’t bring it.

We have no cops since it is a suburban area. The rules say it is ok to bring a pocket knife with a blade of less than 2 and a half inches in length. What do they mean by blade? Does it mean the sharp part of the knife or the entire knife?

The rules state that students may not “engage in conduct that is violent,” such as “possessing, displaying, using or threatening to use a weapon or what is intended to appear as a weapon.” Considering most jurisdictions would find a knife to be a “weapon,” you can’t bring it to school.

In addition, according to your school’s policy on “public conduct on school property,” it is also against the rules to “posses, display, threaten to use or use weapons in or on school property or at a school function, except in the case of law enforcement officers or except as specifically authorized by the school district.”

I couldn’t find the part where it said it was okay to bring certain pocket knives, but even if it does and you’re unsure if your pocket knife meets the criteria, don’t bring it.

Page 18 states that a pocket knife does not count as a weapon, blade length up to 2 and a half inches. But what do they mean by blade?

If you have to ask, just don’t risk it.
