Thinking about future majors/careers

I'm a junior in high school right now and I'm starting to feel this is the time to start thinking about what I want to do in the future.

I have no idea what I want to do... I've done aptitude test, career quiz, etc... and got things like Auditor, Accounting, Administering, etc... But don't know exactly what they are (I did do some reasearch) or if it fits me/like the job.

Uhh…

Yes, we can tell you what you would like when you tell us nothing about your interests. We’re all psychics here :)

I’m not really asking for you to choose my career. I was just wondering what others in the same place as me were thinking…

You didn’t ask a question so we have no idea what to tell you. Whether you were asking us if we had similar experiences or if you wanted help. There was no question or anything in that OP.

Hey, do you encourage this sorta constant back and forth talk on CC?..i think not.

Well there you go, I just said it. Now, let’s go back on topic.

I had no idea either. Then I realized that it doesn’t really matter and just decided to do what I love.

So now I’m pursuing marine biology and participating in animal conservation efforts. I’m much happier than I was before when I forced myself to do DNA/biology stuff (because I thought I was going to major in Biology).

I still don’t know what I want to do in college, but I feel like there’s still room for contemplation so I’m not worried.

I didn’t know for the longest time what I wanted to do, and I still don’t know 100%. I’m not worried though.

For now, since I am an avid writer and reader, I am considering a career in journalism, but I’m not 100% sure. I also would consider going into teaching English (my best subject).

Since I’m not a math/science person at all, you can basically guarantee that I won’t be coming up with new math formulas or curing cancer, unfortunately. =[

I guess that’s my best advice. Think about what you thoroughly enjoy/;love and go after it. It sounds SOO horrendously cheesy, but it’s true. Do you really want a career that will make you miserable?

Yep, same here. I’ve wanted to go into art for the longest time, but I’m afraid I haven’t quite got the creativeness that I need for it… but I really don’t know. I also like math, but I don’t have the passion for it like I do with art… I really don’t HAVE a passion beside art, so I’m stuck ;_;

Hey, you’re only a junior though :smiley: lot of people choose what they will do in life while they’re in college, and some even change it in their midlives (I don’t think that’s a word lol)

I just decided to see what happened as time went along, and study hard for now, at least.
