Thinking about switching from biology to Supply Chain Management?

I'm a sophomore this year and I'm thinking about changing from biology to SCM. Originally I wanted to major im bio/minor in business and then go for a MBA in supply chain later but now I'm worried I'll have trouble finding work experience with just a biology degree, and having a competitive GPA/test score.

Anyway, I have some questions:

I read somewhere that a career in supply chain requires you to be outgoing since you'll be working with a lot of people. I read that you shouldn't pursue supply chain if you're not outgoing. Is this good advice? I'm more shy and introverted so I'm worried that this might be a problem...

In the future (like thirty years from now), I'd like to be somewhere in healthcare management or healthcare compliance, but will a major in SCM help get me there? Should I just major in finance or business administration?

How much math is involved in an SCM major? What kind of math do you must absolutely be good at?

Thanks.

You need to have some level of comfort communicating with people in SCM, but you’ll have to for any career in business regardless of whether or not you go into supply chain. CPAs for the Big 4 have to work with other people doing audits and management consultants have to work with clients regularly. You’ll probably have to do a lot of group projects in your SCM program and other business classes, so that should help you become more comfortable working with other people.

This is kind of vague since you didn’t say what exactly you want to do in health care. People with SCM degrees can get jobs in hospitals and companies that produce medical equipment. You could always start in SCM and get a Master’s in health care administration or something later.

Most undergraduate SCM programs (and undergraduate business programs in general) will require calc 1, some form of statistics, and some sort of quantitative modeling course.
