Thinking of dropping a class

Hi everyone. So I'm a senior now and I'm looking to apply to MIT early, typical pretty math and sciency guy, but I think I'm pretty well roudned in school. So up to this year, I've taken the hardest courseload available to me, all honors, then all APs in the courses I wanted to take and I have a perfect GPA thusfar. So I took AP Lang last year (Jr) and got an A and a 5 on the exam. So this year I'm taking AP Lit, which is much more work than ever before for an english class i've had before. Now I don't mind hard work, but I absolutely hate english courses. I'm a decent reader, and a pretty good writer and have never had trouble. But I just find it so pointless to take a class and work so hard my senior year when I won't even be taking the AP exam since schools only take one 5 from an AP English which ia lready got, and also because I know for sure I'll enjoy the honors class below AP Lit much more because of the great teacher it has that i've known before.

Now my gut is telling me to switch and I will as of now. Does anyone think this is a really bad choice though since I'm taking an "easier" calss for my senior year. Thanks

I don't think it's a bad idea. You shouldn't do everything just for college. And anyways, you said so yourself, the other teacher is really awesome and you'd enjoy it more. Also, you're not majoring in English so it should be totally fine.
