This is my PRELIMINARY LIST help me OUT!!

Hey Everyone, I had met with my college counsellor last week and she was astounded that I had made every deadline they had set, except for the fact that I didn't know where I wanted to go and I didn't visit anywhere this summer... she told me to make a list... here it is: (in alphabetical order)

Carleton C
Carnegie Mellon U
Cornell U
Emory U
Grinnell C
Johns Hopkins U
Northwestern U IL
Princeton U
Rice U
Stanford U
U Pennsylvania
U Rochester
Washington U St. L.

It's a staggering list... but it's a start... here are my stats:

3.61 out of 4.00 coming from one of the top private schools in Missouri. I will be taking 10 AP's and 6 honors classes (we don't weigh, otherwise that would be reflected in my GPA)
ACT-best composite 33, at one time-32, essay-10
SAT- 580CR 740M 600W but this was when I had taken it cold, no prepping at all.... I'm retaking in October, so really I don't think this should be a factor yet...
I have a job in which I've been promoted to a managerial position, which I hold about 20 hours a week
I have performed in 18 professional theater shows and several years of a touring company.
I play the trumpet and have won awards in regional and district competitons
I work for the school newspaper (technical editor)
Head of Science Olympaid (several medals)
Model UN ... resolutions have been placed in packet
and I could go on further....

So that's me.... tell me what you think of my PRELIMINARY LIst .. what should I take out/add perhaps??

Thanks A Lot!

Anyone have any ideas?

for starters, you dont have any safeties in your list.

your stats are relatively similar to mine. you have a lot of big reaches: Cornell, Northwestern, Penn, Stanford, Wash U, Princeton, Rice. For all of these, you'd have good chances if you apply early, but low chances regular. I'd narrow this down to applying to 1 of them early, and maybe 1 or 2 more regular. Johns Hopkins, CMU, Carleton are reaches, but realistic. Emory is a good match, and Rochester is a safe match. I don't know about Grinnell. I would suggest adding some matches and safeties. Maybe narrow your list down to 2/3 big reaches, 2 reaches, 2 good matches, and 2 safeties (8-9 schools total)?

Alright, so what's holding me back from the first list being just reaches... I mean my GPA's low because I've taken the hardest curriculum availible at my school, SAT's don't really count yet until I take them again... those are the only 2 holes I think I have... but regarding GPA again... if you would weigh it.. like most schools do but ours doesn't, I'd have like a 4.3 or something.... so maybe that will put it in perspective and by the way... washu loves our school, in the past 5 years, we've sent 50 kids there so I'd consider that more a match than a reach...

Yes.... and also ______ ... come on!
