Okay so if I apply to Cornell ED from Florida would my state work for or against me? Even if very slight please respond.

It won't help you....there are a lot from Florida already.

Move to a state in the Midwest.

haha thanks but i can't just move so my question was is it better to live in Florida than some "average" state

No florida Jersey New England (especially NY) seem to be the biggest in terms of ppl going to cornell

Why florida?

cause i live in florida

I understand that, but why is florida so heavily populated at Cornell?, unless I misunderstood what sparticus was saying

would kentucky be a good state for "geo diversity"? i want to go to cornell baddddly.

I don't know, but mad floridians go to cornell it would seem...

There aren't any good schools around....

don't forget UF...

Haha people say its good but many of my friends and classmates are going there (15+) and from what I know of their capabilities academically, UF isn't something to brag about.

Duke, Emory, and UNC are the closest "good schools" that I can think of off the top of my head...and each is a minimum 8 hour drive from where I live.

UF is not a great school (its okay but NOT great) and I don't want to stay in the south which is where Emory, Duke, and UNC are. still anyone but sparticus have an opinion on whether or not florida is geo diverse for cornell

See page 2.

I'm not saying florida will hurt you. I'm just saying it's not obscure enough to be geo diverse. I've met alot of kids from Florida going online, but only one from, say, New Mexico.

I'm from florida, and it doesnt seem like that many people from FL go to cornell. Last year there were only two of us from all of central florida. I know that a lot of kids go from south florida, but still compared to NY and NJ and such its a much much smaller number.
