What exactly is the difference between a weighted and unweighted GPA?

weighted is taking into account the difficulty of the course for example AP or Honors and multiplying your final grade by a certain amount depending on the course's difficulty. For example in my school APs are .1, so in econ i got a 90 so you multiply that by .1 and get 9, and you add the 9 on to the grade, so my weighted grade for econ was 99, honors are the same except they are .05
