Someone please explain to me the difference in GPA?

Weighted means that your AP/Honors courses receive points like this: A=5, B=4, C=3. But not your regular courses.

Unweighted means that EVERY single one of your courses receives points like A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1

The difference is basically giving you credit for trying your a** off in harder classes.

A lot of the time the actual number values given depends on each school (meaning there is no one true universal system) but it just means basically giving harder classes a more forgiving grading scale that exceeds the typical 4.0 max grade
