This REALLY didn't work the first time...

...So I'm trying again :)

Hello!

I'm an ED II applicant to Vassar and I'd really appreciate a little insight on what you think my chances are.

SUBJECTIVE

Teacher recs: haven't seen them but I'm pretty sure they're amazing (one teacher actually asked for more time to make it as "perfect" as possible :))

Essays: the general consensus was that they were amazing (I tend to disagree) so let's just assume that they were average/good :p

Your-Space Supplement: It's kind of a mini-documentary about the "bullying culture" at my school and was screened in front of the high school as part of a bullying awareness campaign that I initiated as Student Council President.

What do you think??

Looks great, but maybe too good (bordering on not looking truthful). Did you put this on the “Chances” board? Probably will get more responses.

From my point of view (take with grain of salt), you would get into Vassar.

Thanks, jkiwmom!!!

Haha I promise everything up there is entirely truthful (it would sort of defeat the purpose of a chance thread if I lied about my stats! :p) so I guess I should take what you said as a compliment so thank you :).

Would anyone else mind sharing their opinion? Please? :)

As an American citizen, you look like you’re in. Will you be applying as an international (because I know in the smoking thread you said you live in Beirut) or as an American citizen? It’s harder for internationals, of course, and a lot harder to predict.

On another note - I got really into the band BEIRUT while living in POLAND. I dunno if I’d call that a coincidence but…it’s something!

Thanks, TomWolfe321!!!

About the smoking thing, I really do appreciate how candid and chill you were in answering the question as a smoker yourself. Also, it’s very cool (and definitely merits the “something” designation!) that you’re into beirut (I love them:)) AND went to poland :D

You should also probably know that I jumped up and down a little when I read your comment about my likelihood of getting in (yes, I am applying as a US-Citizen!!). Vassar just seems like the greatest place to learn and live in and I can’t wait to find out if it’s it’s the place I’LL be learning and living in :)

Would anyone else mind posting their views?
