I don't advocate this kind of irresponsible action.

yeah but itll probably also end up getting you either killed or in prison. but yeah, it made for a good story

Wonder if he will use this on his college app essay... :)
One of the luckiest soul to make it back alive; he should try his luck with the lotto.

what a retard.

"One of the luckiest soul to make it back alive; he should try his luck with the lotto."

he looked like a local.. thats not that lucky

i give him props for dedication, but not exactly responsible. did he have a plan B

what was so wrong with him that he had to do something so drastic just for college admission?

Yea he sure looked like one, but 'he didn't sound like one either. It's not that hard to tell whether people are natives or not. I mean, if you live in california, you talk a certain way, and if you live in Texas (just an example, not picking on Texans or anyone else) you speak differently.

no this won't get you into college... check the same thread in the College Admissions forum

I dont think his interest in doing this was exclusively to get into a good college. Iraq is his homeland, he has been very concerned about it and the state of affairs in general, and if he wrote about it fo his college app, then it may just be a happy coincidence

Just because its what you may have done to get into a college doesn't mean that he did to get into a college as well :P

sounds like a stunt to me. why did he seek AP writers in iraq to tell his story?

what a freaking dumba$$

dragon45 - check the title of this thread... a lot of us are just responding to it
