those QUESTIONS we answered on our Application...

^Nice
I think they use these questions to determine what sort of Yale student you would be. It makes more sense.

I plead the fifth.

You can't plead the fifth!! The Constitution doesn't govern CC!! haha

lol
true
but nobody knows I applied so putting answers up would be... bad.
i may be thinking too much.

WISH I WERE BETTER AT
Contributing to a conversation. I assume my mates know what I am thinking and that makes my in-class contributions very sad to hear. (or something along those lines)

RENEWS ME
Possibility of making a difference in somebody's life. I see myself using music to better the lives of unfortunate people in the world.

THAT IS IT hookem.

Well technically the constitution has reign over the country of america so CC users in the USA can invoke American rights to thier conversations, and conversely British or India members are obliged to do the same for their respective countries laws.

seriously, ^ makes sense.
but we are in the Yale forum, and it is a support group

In that case post your answers, no one will probably recongnize who you are. I think I should perhaps get off this forum for two weeks the more I am on here the more I think about decisions.

we should add this to the admitted section, to see what the admits put down?

Well I was thinking something like that but on a grander scale. I was thinking why don't we make a parallel thread where people posted thier decisions, but instead of stats they post one of thier essays. There could be that one for the RD results AND the one that has only stats, that way the applicants for next year could actually read the essays and see how the essays correlated to the adcoms decision.

i believed Mal until you guys pointed out that he was joking :$

hahaha, Mal's approach would actually be quite awesome!

Anyways, for the "Free afternoon" question, I remember putting in something like this:-

Ride a bike or play a sport- enjoy the fact that I really do have a free afternoon!

Dbate, that sounds like a good idea, although I think it might give fodder to next year's plagiarists...

Yah Yah
Remember, Yale is making more room for people to gain admissions.
If we post these things online, and next year's applicants just decide to steal, then we would have caused a great university to admit future rats and goats.
Unless Yale is very super

:( I wish I hadn't read this thread. It made my answers pale in comparison. Not by content - but mine just sound childish when I look back at them. Sigh. Now I'll be rejected for sure ;-)

I HIGHLY doubt that someone is so desperate for an answer, that they would come here and steal one of the posted answers.

I know we all think our answers are cute, or the greatest thing since sliced bread.... but honestly everything we said has probably been said before, or is just blah.

And obviously, if you did come up with a great answer, just dont post it...

I heard somewhere that admissions loves reading those. I doubt it does much to an application but if anything, it gives them a kick.

I bet they are TONS of fun to read. Especially the strange or weird ones.

I bet they do get some crazy ones.. like

Free afternoon:
Leveling my world of warcraft character (someone said this earlier as a joke I'm sure)

i was simply honest and put down pretty trite answers.
Free Afternoon: Read a book and take a nap with my dogs.
Better at: empathy and playing the drums...etc

I was just straightforward with my answers...I think I posted these sometime after I submitted my app, but I don't feel like doing AP Bio work right now so I'll do this :)

Afternoon: I would enjoy a nice outing into New York City with a group of friends

Proud: Though some may see it as a burden, I am proud of my descent from the cradle of civilization, Iraq, and my unwavering belief in God.

Qualities I admire: In watching the Beijing Olympics, I quickly learned to admire the undying perseverance exhibited by the athletes. I also admire
open-mindedness.

Better at: I wish I was a better athlete. Though I do participate in sports, I am not as skilled as some of my peers.

Renewed: A nice run around town does the job for me. It leaves me with the satisfaction of a good workout and takes my mind off of troubling matters.

Those short questions were fun to answer :)
I think my "what makes you refreshed" answer was just a list of random things that made me happy - like frozen yogurt and my Spanish class!

My "what makes you feel refreshed" answer was "time by myself".

They're probably going to think I'm a frickin hermit.
