<p>I think most privates tell you from late May to early June. What sucks is the mid-May admissions because you have to reply within 2 weeks, but you still want to hear from those colleges that admit in early June.</p>

<p>so, I got accepted to UIUC college of engineering, and I need to make a deposit by May1 if I am to go. However, I'm also applying to Northwestern, which doesnt admit students until after May1. Should I just send in my deposit to UIUC anyways?</p>
<p>you can call admissions and tell them that you're waiting on other schools and see what they say.</p>
<p>^ i never had the balls to try that. lol i'd send in my deposit, at the very most you lose 150 dollars as a deposit.</p>

it's your choice - the worst they can say is that you need to pay your deposit, and since you were planning on doing that anyway, you wouldn't be losing much.</p>
