Those who still have not received a decision...

yeah I've definently heard about a few more kids waiting for cornell. Hang in there! I expect to hear next week about NYU...

Same to you too and good luck!

I think we get paid less attention to because we represent less tuition revenue, and, depending on how many credits we have may effect how well we fit in at the school we want to transfer into.

I do not think that is an accurate assessment; a small number of schools suffer from lethargy when requiring an impetus to evaluate transfer applications. The reason for such delays is rather because of the size of the institution and the amount of applications: more than a thousand students apply to Cornell. Considering the additional pressures of placing freshman, attempting to maintain a high yield, and taking students off the waitlist, such delays are no surprise.

Do not forget the big picture; adcoms do not only look at the student's independent merits, but how well he/she will fit in the incoming class. To them, the class of 2008 or 2009 is a portrait that requires constant perfecting so they can fulfill the university's "philosophy". Harvard transfer adcoms have no trouble admitting that they accept transfer students partially on the basis of filling "gaps" in the incoming freshman class.

Yeah, Georgetown said they wouldn't give me a decision until they received my final transcript. i sent it last monday, I'm hoping for a decision soon. I can't be put on a waitlist either because it'll be too late.

I don't know if any waitlisted transfers have a chance?

hey ponderosa, I'm in the same position. I had to send my final transcript in to NYU. It's very nervewracking huh? But at least, we're just that much closer to finding out. Keep us updated! I expect to hear at the latest next week--though hopefully, this week..

I am still waiting on University at Buffalo. I sent in final transcript for spring and fall on friday.

CNCL, did you send your final transcript to cornell?

I faxed them an unofficial copy around memorial day and asked my school to send an official one about 2 weeks ago, so it should be in their hands now. You heard anything yet?

I've basically accepted the fact that im going back to my old school next semester, its June 8th and I have heard nothing from Miami or Maryland. I sent my transcript request to my school well before the semester finished in early may so I think mine was one of the first to be sent once spring semester grades were ready. Plus if I get accepted at either this late there is probably im going to be able to get housing.

^Don't give up! have any of you guys heard back from your respective schools. I kinda wish georgetown had just rejected me so that I wouldn't have to still be anxious about the decision. And now my current school wants me to run track and become active in the clubs that i'm treasurer. I'll have to wait probably 3 more weeks before g-town says anything, and all the g-town transfers are already sure in their plans. *sigh

ponderosa, if your final transcript was good, I do not see why they would reject you. The fact they have not rejected you thus far implies that your application is contingent on your latest grades. If there were impetus to reject you, they would have done so already.

perhaps but they have a point. As we continue to wait, don't our financial aid and housing options deplete?

That's certainly very likely but I hope not, after all that wouldn't be fair at all.

Ceruleanne,

I really hope you get into NYU. It sucks that you haven't heard yet--I would be DYING...but then again, im also on a waitlist which is almost the same thing.

anyway, I think no news so far is good news. I hope I helped answer any questions you had about NYU. Best of luck. I think you will really like it!

--RED92--

hey! thanks so much. I was dying but now I'm more chill--after all, I can't really survive being on edge for two months straight. Anyway, I called the admissions office yesterday and they said they should finish all applications by the end of this week--perhaps they mean waitlist ones too?--so that's a good sign. i should be hearing soon. I'll be sure to update everyone!

CNCL.. is the final transcript required? i don't really want to send it because i got a B on it :-</p>

Everyone, thanks so much for your support! I got into NYU today!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have yet to recieve a financial aid packet but I'm determined to just be in debt forever if I didn't recieve anything. The wait is over.thank god.

ceru,

Congratulations!!! : ) cheers to you.
i'll probably be there in the fall...maybe we'll bump into each other.

best wishes.
