The tour was good.
The information is useful.
The dorm food is very bad.
They have this 1 room near the Sixth College Apartments they call a dining hall. The menu is pizza, wraps, hamburgers, chips, and soda. There are about 10 tables outside for seating. There is no real cook and no indoor seating.
1 pizza oven, 1 outdoor BBQ grill, and a hot plate for the wraps. A little better than the corner 7-11.

It was good overall. Except being so damn hot outside.

foodworx has never been passed off as a dining hall, but the others aren't that far away. granted, the year i lived across the street from foodworx was really helpful -- i had to learn how to cook for myself :)

today was crazy, 95 degrees, and crowded. and i have to say that it didn't do ucsd very much justice. I spent the whole day before admit day with a sophomore who is very involved in ERC. he gave me a daylong tour through the inside of rimac, the top floor of geisel library(quiet zone), and generally the top half of campus. erc is so chill when there isn't a million people stomping around. at one point they had this thing in the middle of the green where they gave out free sno cones and cotton candy, and you could make tie dye t-shirts. we got to hang out inside his freshman friends suite for a while, so we weren't herded like cows. later we went to see the muir musical, got some late night breakfast burritos from OVT, and played taboo with some people downstairs till 1:45 in the morning. basically, UCSD isn't really how it is on admit day. and it was freakin hot.

plus i got to sit in on an ethnic studies class. cool.

i thought it was nice, cool. wasn't as great as i thought it would be though, but i think13579 does have a point about UCSD not being how it was on Admit Day .
cause it was friken hot!! agh, devastating, especially the long four hour drive there and back to where i live.

admit day was great so far i reallly like ucsd i mean most everything about it is how i want it
i didnt think it was too hot but maybe thats because i was wearing shorts
people say they dont like the architecture but i like it
plus it feels clean not like a dirty run down campus
people werebetter looking than i thought theyd be after hearing about triton eye there were a lot of really athletic looking people too

the only thing i dont like is the mealplan, its inflexible and the cafeteria food is so overpriced

ummm.. i'm going to rant about one thing right now and here it is.

THE DORMS ARE SOOOOOO EFFFFINNNGGGG SMALLLL. I honestly don't know how people can be crammed into such a tiny room for a triple, to me it just seems ridiculous. Maybe a lot of you will disagree with me, but I personally hated the dorms. I didn't eat there because friend earlier said that there was probably better food by the outlet malls, but the food was still pretty bad (Rice Garden bbq pork is garbage). I did like the campus itself, it was big and very green which I like. People claiming that UCSD has ugly people are just idiots, to me, it seems like it's just the same as any random college you'd walk into. There's good people and then there's horse-faced people just like anywhere you'd go, so I don't get why people were flaming SD for its "Triton Eye." I had a great time except getting completely drained from walking, I really hope I get a single dorm or at least a double. I'm gonna die if I get a triple -_-

yeah i agree, revelle doesnt seem as bad as some of the threads actually say it is..

but i just realized how frikin impossible it is to get a single.
and yeah.. we were so unlucky.. i mean, whats the chances of it being this hot on this particular day.

i also didnt realize there were so many on-site vendors like rubios, round table, subway, jamba juice ...

@maelstrom : they remind me of prison// you decide ucsd over uci?

@cooligan - i'm glad someone agrees that the dorms were ridiculous. I honestly don't see how people can be satisfied with 3 people being crammed into a room that's the equivalent to half of a standard bedroom, but w/e. I might actually get a single because I'm considered "handicapped" for personal reasons. P.S.: I'm not Revelle, I'm Warren =P. All my friends are in Revelle though so I got to see Revelle as well.

i don't think the dorms are that bad compared to other colleges
i mean it could be worse
plus even though the size isn't great the location is and at least its pretty clean and not breaking down and cracks in the wall and stuff

@ad.bc yeah, good point, but i guess many of us are used to the comforts of our home .. can take a while to adjust.... a long long time

13579 i think u were in my ethnic studies class haha

maelstrom - if you're in warren, you have a really good chance at getting a single anyway. 4/10 people get a single.

other than that, i thought my single was soo small when i first got here, same goes for the triples in my suite, but really, now it seems like i got more than enough room. it's not like i spend all day in my room anyway. all you really need is a bed haha.

really? it was a 1 oclock class at peterson 108 with professor yang. ethnic studies 1c? or 10c? idk. he started calling on random people off the roll sheet and it was freakin hilarious.

@ADiTaMi- Umm.. how do you know? Well, I felt pretty worried because the lady at the Lecture Hall made it seem like Singles were nearly impossible to get. I probably won't have a problem though because I'm legally disabled/handicapped, but anyways, how do you know 4/10 get a single?

i just realized how HUGE the campus was. omg the walking killed me, i know i MUST get a bike when i attend. also i realized how far revelle was from everything else... ugh

yea 1c... i was hoping he didnt call me ..... but that lecture wasnt that good, so dont think it is like that every day....hehe

oh and all the admits that were touring revelle YOU GUYS WOKE ME UP lol

maelstrom99- yea youll get a single dont worry ( but did u tell them that you were handicapped?)

xxfly4flyfxx- the campus is huge, but i can walk from revelle to warren lecture hall in like 10-12 minutes ( the exercise is good trust me)
next year is going to suck tho cus the mathews appts are FAR :(

why do the showers not have doors?
