took it once in OCT, (not satisfied)
just took the march one, i think i did really well on math and i met my goal for english, but i messed up on the writing (messed up on essay and omitted 2 MC's)

do u think its a good idea to take it a THIRD time to aim for a higher writing score and send in only my 2nd and 3rd tries?

do colleges mind if i only send in my 2nd and 3rd tries?

some feedback would be nice, i heard that taking the SAT's 3 times is a fail and looks pretty bad LOL

im just hoping that i can superscore my MARCH one and my potentially MAY scores, and not sending in october. :( someone please helppp

Anything is fine as long as you show progress. SAT is an aptitude test, so if you are showing progress, it shows that you have the ability to learn in college.

I took it three times. First time I went from 1920 ish I think to 2000. Third time I went to 2170 including 770 on the writing. A 100 pt increase in writing! I really think it was because I just didn’t care and was so relaxed. And I didn’t study in between.

I believe that most college take your highest score. The UNC - Chapel Hill admissions office told visiting students to take the SAT as many times as they wish. So the best advice is to call the colleges you are interested in.

i have a question: i took it once freshman year as an admission requirement to a boarding school…i didn’t really try since it was freshman year. i didn’t prepare at all so i got a mediocre score. now i’m a junior and i’ve already taken it once but i’m not satisfied with my score. i’m planning to take it in may again. does that count as my third time? if i take it once more (at the beginning of senior year), would that be bad since it’d be my fourth time? but i feel like it’s really my third time. i guess what i’m really asking is that does the freshman SAT count as one?
