My dream school is Dartmouth but my SAT score is a 1410…not too great I know. Dartmouth requires 2 SAT subject tests along with either the SAT or ACT but I only have one decent subject test score (750 math 2). Since Dartmouth considers SAT testing in January, would it better to retake the SAT again in hope of a higher critcal reading/writing score or would it be better to improve a 630 SAT subject test score??
Why Dartmouth? What excites you about Dartmouth?
There are about 2000 schools out there . . . . Dartmouth is nice, but it’s not Heaven on Earth. No school is. You may want to come up with a few other back up schools – you prob have but really . . . there are many other places that may make you much happier.
That being said, I’d go for taking the SAT. Schools compete on USN&WR with each other in attracting students with the higher SAT scores. Higher subject test scores don’t get Dartmouth further ahead in its rat race.
