Tides courses

Has anyone taken a tides course that they really liked and would recommend for next year?

I took “Writing in New Orleans” last year. The professor, Beau Boudreaux, was great, but the class was kinda pointless. I think most tides classes are like that. The classes only meet for an hour a week and most of that hour was spent taking role and just chatting with the professor. So I would say just pick one that sounds interesting, but don’t expect much to come out of it. Also, I’ve heard that the Science tides, esp Mysteries of the Quantum World, are horrible, even for science majors.

I took something like “Leadership and politics” with Dean Maclaren freshman year. It was the most amazing class!! We basically just had a hang out session with him, and he always had great things planned, whether it be dinner at his house, or lazer tag! I definitely recommend any class with him!
