@maxieman Clemson notifies applicants of admission via snail man unless it is for Honors.
@carolinamom2boys not true. Friend got in with an email first then snail mail and he’s not honors college
Per Clemson admissions, snail mail is how people are notified first
@bvickers6 we never did get an email, so I wouldn’t look at it as a sign one way or another. Perhaps just slow mail on a holiday weekend. Maybe emails had to do with the intended major? No clue. It is strange how some people were notified one way and others a completely different way. All I know is that we got an envelope via USPS.
My son did call Admissions about the major - apparently it is extremely high demand and very difficult to get in to even for current Clemson students, so the chances of having it changed are almost non-existent unless he were able to go through someone in that particular department. Nothing like having another monkey wrench added to an already difficult decision making process!
I know a group of people who were notified all by email first
@bvickers6 My son was admitted in Dec by mail. He has never received an email except for the Honors college. In terms of major @mre1991, Clemson admits to a major. If they were admitted to second choice, it is very difficult if not impossible to transfer into that major.
@maxieman Are you in SC ?Could it be possible that it took longer to receive the mail ?
Interestingly enough, we had a tip-off because my son got his email the same day we got the Clemson acceptance packet in the snail mail here in southern Florida (literally an hour or two before). So we had a pretty good guess that he was accepted.
The email started like this:
This happened in late January.
@SouthFloridaMom9 So it sounds like the letter was mailed before the email was sent , correct?
@carolinamom2boys the nice person he spoke to in the Admissions office explained it all to him as I mentioned before in my post. He had no idea that the relatively new major was so popular, but it was helpful for them to suggest that he could contact someone in the department directly. He’s not sure he wants to do that just yet as he has other options, but it was helpful advice from Admissions.
Yes, it had to have been. Our mail runs a little slow it seems like. And we had the email and the snail mail within hours. It was kind of neat actually!
@mre1991 I hope it works out for him. I know that with engineering, nursing and education, it is difficult . Good luck to him.
@Lilly5 do you mind if I ask what major you son had applied to?
Would live to know if any rejections went out as well…,and if anyone gets an email to register online . Still waiting, northeast
does anyone know how many people are accepted into pre-business major? and when the letters were sent out? i’m from new jersey so maybe it takes longer for a letter to reach me? i have no idea
@newcollegemom16 yes – my son actually applied to the Agriculture and Horticulture majors (1st and 2nd choice) - - do you think the major could make a difference in the timing of the acceptance? I’m guessing we should get some kind of letter today.
@newcollegemom16 letters were all mailed late 2/11. Most that have received seem to have been in state or southern. I think we can expect NE today, hopefully
We got our letter today…we r in!! Northern Jersey!!
Congratulations @JerseyTiger! Nice handle btw!
In MA! Daughter’s acceptance letter came today!
