Congrats to everyone accepted. This is so frustrating waiting to hear. Clemson is my DD’s first choice, but the last one to let her know. My concern is that her ACT score puts her on the bubble, but her GPA and other requirements are great. I just don’t know what to expect. Sure wish it would come soon!
@newcollegemom16 Letters aren’t supposed to be officially sent until Feb. I wouldn’t take that she hasn’t received one yet that she won’t be accepted . I know it’s hard to be patient. What is her major?
Same. Got in to Penn State last week. But Clemson is still #1. The next two weeks will be hard.
@carolinamom2boys , her major is Agriculture. I just keep hoping she’ll find out sooner. This is going to be a long 2 weeks.
Hope you hear good news soon @newcollegemom16 and @Cheer2016!
Fingers crossed @Cheer2016 and @newcollegemom16. It will be a long 2 weeks here too. Waiting on honors and Lyceum scholars notifications .
Fingers crossed for all of us still waiting on anything!
My daughter applied in September and still hasn’t heard anything yet? should she be worried?
Letters are supposed to come out in several weeks. Clemson does not technically have rolling admissions . You may want to check and make sure everything is in since there is no portal you can check.
I am confused why so many students have heard already. maybe because we are out of state? University of south carolina made us wait too. all the instate kids heard, then she heard back 3 weeks Later! At least they offered a $75,000 merit scholarship with the acceptance.
What is your daughter’s major? With some of the more competitive majors , it’s taking longer to find out. My son had provisional acceptance from his junior year , and he found out later than some without provisional acceptance . When we went to Fall Blitz , we were told that students who were receiving larger merit scholarships would be notified earlier.
she is a psychology major. They do not have a large program there for that. It does not really matter because she will be going to Penn State It is just the last hold out before we can close the book and move on. I will call tomorrow and ask admissions if all her paperwork was received. Thanks for the info. I never heard of a provisional acceptance before.
We were contacted in the spring of my son’s Jr year that based on his ACT and GPA he was granted acceptance for Fall 2016, he just needed to apply in August.
that is so exciting. I love that idea. More schools should do that! so nice to go into senior year with a huge weight off your shoulders.
My DD is still waiting this was near the top of the list but she’s been getting nervous about adjusting down there as a New Englander but she liked it at the outset so we’re still awaiting an acceptance… She wants to visit… Also in at Penn State… Waiting on UConn as well!
@dadof2020and2024 Tell your daughter that there quite a few northerners at Clemson , many from NJ and NY. The Upstate of SC has become quite the retirement Mecca for northerners and it is a good mix. She’ll be just fine if she’s still interested know Clemson. Hopefully she’ll hear something soon.
My DD is still waiting as well. She applied immediately in August when applications opened but has heard nothing from Clemson in the meantime. Clemson and TCU were top on her list, probably with Clemson as 1a and TCU as 1b. However TCU came back with an attractive merit scholarship that puts the cost a good amount below Clemson OOS tuition. Her TCU admissions representative is giving her quite a bit of personalized attention, from emails to a school visit in MN to a personalized note on her acceptance letter, and frankly it’s nice to feel wanted. She would need the $7500 OOS scholarship to make it financially viable to attend Clemson and that doesn’t look likely at this point.
My daughter is anxiously waiting as well in NC. She was accepted to Baylor with a nice merit scholarship, TCU and NC State. Her favorite right now is Clemson but we need to visit the Texas schools in March. Clemson needs to get with the program and should have posted the results online already. I hope they try to get them in the mail early enough next week so they can arrive before Presidents Day on Feb.15 when there won’t be any mail. Last year, it looks like they started mailing on 2/11 according to the admissions twitter account.
@ncmom1997 Clemson does not post admissions on line, never has. There is also no portal to check status on. You may want to call the school to make sure they received everything . They do not have rolling admissions, and have always sent letters in February as stated on their website . Early notifications have been sent to some receiving substantial merit.
I’m aware of their process, I just don’t agree with it. It is slow and antiquated and needs to be improved. They have all of her paperwork.
