Jus to give an idea of what I already know, Last year I took what I guess is the equivalent of an honors chemistry class, then I took the chem sat ii and got a 720. Now I'm thinking about self studying the ap test. Is it a lot more material than what I already know? About how much time a week would be necessary to get a 4, as I'm not one to devote a huge portion of my time to this. Any help will be appreciated.

It really depends on everyone, -- how good you are at cramming, and how good you are in essays, because i think AP essay formats are different from the requirements in the SAT subjects.

The AP test does require more (but then again, also different) information and depth into a certain subject so yea...

Some people claim that they've only read the barrons book perhaps days before the exam and get a 5, others study a lot but only get a 3.

It depends on cramming skills, BSing skills, but also science skills. It's hard to tell from the chem sat II, but yea...
