There are most certainly cool fun people at NYU. Mistletoe I doubt you are one. Perhaps a course in logic would be of benefit to you. Being "stuck Up" or "cool" does not change the fact essays count. Please don't disguise your Mis-information with a coating of bs.

you do realize you started the personal attacks...and you do realize you are basing all your conclusions on pure assumptions with no proof at all in regards to essays. Does it matter anymore, you already applied, stop trying to justify the effort you put into your essay, and if you disagree actually show me proof that they matter, because everything leaked from just about every admissions office has shown that they don't. Perhaps you remember Michigan (I think thats the school) from 3-4 years ago. You need 100 points to get in, having a great essay gets you 1 point, being a minority got you 25.

But I am done discussing this with you, you refuse to discuss anything without referring to ad hominem attacks. You are a very confrontational person who does not seem to accept contradicting opinions at all. A word of advice, people do not like that in college. I don't need to prove myself, I am a sophomore and know where I stand here, you do not.

I am here to try to help future NYU students decide to come or not and help with questions out of kindness (and because I have nothing better to do at work haha). If you do not agree with me fine...but the argument "I put a lot of effort into it, and i personally didn't get essay help, so it must count" makes absolutely no logical sense. If you want to disagree with me fine, but you must learn to do it without being a rude and disrespectful.

Look I do not owe you proof for my OPINION. If someone contradicts your opinion you are immediately bent out of shape. TOO bad. Your leaks are not proof of anything. It is just plain silly at best. I believe the essays count. You have said nothing to convince me otherwise. This subject is now exhausted. Best of luck, I hope you hit a windmill.---Ellockonyu

Chill out people!

end of story.

wow... sanj8 your mature.

I love this thread.

actually, my scores were so low that if they were posted they would be laughed at. my GPA is also very, very low. i have no idea how i got into Tisch!

There's a reason why it's Tisch.

firewalker, you just make yourself look stupid with comments like that.

Chanel, every college at NYU will have kids in the lower 25%. Some admitted student has to be the one with the lowest stats, right? It's only logical. Don't let idiots here discourage you. Are you in Film?

thank you. that was very kind. i got in for dramatic writing.

I personally know multiple kids, who happen to be in Tisch, who have lower scores than me. Just saying. Keep in mind that for Tischies there are other factors for admission other than numbers.

Hey everyone,

I have noticed firewalker trying to be nicer and more positive. I think he really meant that at Tisch your talent in your chosen art form may tip you into acceptance even if your scores are somewhat lower than the NYU average. Let's all give him a second chance because he does seem bright and knowledgeable, when he's not being mean.

Is that only at Tisch though?? I heard CAS was "easier" to get into as well.... is this wrong?

I didn't mean that Tisch was easier to get into - it's talent and academics. The smartest kid in my school applied ED to Tisch. He's very talented too.

wow if colleges really consider the quality of the essay and than examine your SAT writing scores and academic record than they're really in for something...at least with regards to my application. im in the lowest english level my school offers because im so lazy and at the same time i took A.P. language and composition as my elective (they couldnt deny me the opportunity even though i was in lower level english because i just flashed my standardized test scores in english lol) . I got a B- in the lower level class and a B+ in the A.P. course...i also got a 730 in writing and my college essay was amazing. they'll either confuse themselves by trying to figure out how i could be in a class in which people dont know how to spell words like opportunity and yet still have written my essay or they'll think i didnt write it lol.

wow! a point system for admission?! well, that must be true! i've read somewhere that ivies use some sort of formula, too.

oh, and something else! it's amazing how you guys who are sophomores in college have patience/time to speak to us - high school students. do u really get that much free time in college? i just wanna know...so that i'm "prepared" for next year

Notice my generally condescending tone I keep when speaking to you prospective freshmen.

"condescending tone" hahaha.... thanks for being here, anyway :)
