Timeline for acceptance?

ok, so i have heard that some of the acceptances are coming out this week, and was wondering if that is indeed true?
if so, when should a civil engineering major hear by? (I heard they do it by major) i talked to a friend who goes there, and he said that he got accepted for computer engineering end of feb. also, sorta late, but chance me ;)

MAJOR: Civil Engineering

UW gpa: 3.45; csu gpa: 3.65 (low, i know :frowning:

started AP Latin, but dropped, teacher didnā€™t like my writing, and i didnā€™t like how it was effecting my gpa

lots of sports (soccer, track, cross country)
Lots of clubs (MASC, Science Bowl (Captain) and many othersā€¦)

got a job, but after the filing period was over, or else i could have put 10 hrs work per week

so yeah, little late, but any answers/ chances? THANK YOU!

According to the official site, the average GPA for the freshmen engineers is a 4.08. BUT your SAT score is really high so that balances out the low GPA part (<a href=ā€œCal Poly Admissionsā€>Cal Poly Admissions). As for the rest, Iā€™ll let someone with experience besides showing statistics give you an answer. Good luck!

CSU diff from Cal poly btw. Cal Poly is basically UC Cap Weight (8 honors max + Freshman year)

No one can really give you your chance per se, but I can tell you that GPA counts as 45% of your numeric evaluation. That will be your biggest hurdle. With that said, rigor and test scores combined also count 45% and both are pretty strong. ECs only count 10% and are bumped by both leadership and work experience. Civil isnā€™t as competitive as aero or mechanical (so Iā€™ve read), so youā€™ll get a bump there too. Take this all with a grain of salt as chancing is a crazy wild guess at best.
