I was just wondering how long UO usually takes to process applications. I sent mine in Dec. 20th (I know, a busy time) and was curious about when I'd know the decision. My stats are above those needed for guaranteed admission, so I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait until April to hear something. Anyone know? Also, do you receive merit scholarship info with the decision letter, or is that delayed until after UO receives your financial info?

They send out the decisions on a rolling basis, so I would quess around a month after they receive it. The way I understand it is that you will find out if you are being considered for scholarships when you are accepted and then learn the results of that around April.

All right. Thanks for your help.

If you are talking about the Dean's Scholarship, which doesn't require a separate application, my daughter was notified about a month after she was accepted. She applied early enough to be guaranteed a decision by December 15. She was accepted at the end of November and was notified about a week or 2 ago that she has been awarded a minimum $3,000 annual, renewable scholarship. In order to be considered, you have to have a 3.6 or better.

The general university scholarship application form is due January 15, and she's working on that one now. She was also invited to apply for a new scholarship, the alumni scholarship, which is due March 15.

Hope this helps! My dd will likely end up there, as she plans to major in journalism and they have a great program. But - still waiting on UC's, so the final decision will be made when she hears from them in the spring.

Thanks, socmom. I don't know if I qualify for the Dean's Scholarship, unless they round my 3.57 unweighted up to 3.6. I have a good weighted GPA (4.42), but I don't think that's considered for that particular scholarship, unfortunately. I mailed my scholarship app the same day as my other forms, but I still have to complete the FAFSA.

I'm also applying to other schools, UCs included, but I like UO and it'd be nice to know sooner rather than later, so I have more time to think about my choices.

Congrats to your daughter. Best wishes for the next few months.
