Hey what are your thoughts on TD? I've heard some mixed things but I would like to hear what people have to say about their experiences.

All the people I know who got into Timothy Dwight were angry they didn’t get into Morse

^ Oh really? I thought EVERYONE was unhappy about not getting into Davenport.

;)

Mostly, they are extremely depressed they didn’t get selected into Silliman.

Nah, the latent desire to get into Jonathan Edwards is so thick you can smell it in the air.

Yeah, but they are reminded daily of the general superiority of Silliman.

Oh, how the petty debate for second best. Face it, it doesn’t matter if you’re second best. All that matters is Calhoun is #1.

TD is far from a lot of things. It’s pretty though. Do searches and stuff will come up.

Very true. Its far from as great as Morse. Pretty far.

since i’m not really into yelling out that my residential college is superior to everyone else’s (honestly, to me, sometimes it gets really annoying) i’ll spare the unhelpful post. TD is far from a lot, yet i’ve heard from multiple alums/current students that they are some of the happiest freshmen, and with good reason. TD has great four-year housing (frosh housing is complete with AC and essentially like a hotel), had an amazing master that stepped down but mr. brenzel is taking over, has crazy college-spirit. they also have fun things like TDDDTDD (i think that’s like a TD celebration weekend or something with tons of fun stuff) and llama land (a trip to a TD alumnus’ private estate that has llamas). TDers get close with kids in SM but they also spend a lot of time on old campus. i heard living away from old campus isn’t really detrimental to freshman year social life. you’ll meet tons of people thru activities and mingling anyways. they have a blog, search “timothy dwight college blog” on google or something, though i think they haven’t updated it in a year or so.

I think you either love TD or you hate it. Fortunately, most people love it. It’s got crazy college spirit, is very small so everybody’s very close, and has plenty of money. If you don’t find friends within the college, though, I hear it can feel very isolating, since it’s relatively far away, you don’t live with other freshmen, and everybody else is so tight with one another. But chances are you’ll love it Not as much as you would if you were in Branford, but…
