Tips for Calc BC or Psych?

Those are the only ones I'm taking. I'm self-studying for psych, although I am in a "regular" psych class now.

Any people take these before?

I already know what college I'm going to (senior) and I just need a 3 on both of them to get credit. I got a 3 on Calc AB last year.

Calc if you don’t know what to do, set the f’(x)=0

:)

Works 59% of time.

59%?

Random stat haha.

Correction, works 90% of the time ;)

^Hah! I wish!

Well, I strongly recommend Barron’s for AP Psychology. It really has everything you need to know. I started reading it a few days before the AP exam and ended up getting a 3 (which does make me sad but it’s decent considering I hardly knew anything before reviewing Barron’s). Had I started studying earlier, I’m sure I would’ve gotten a higher grade.

I’m taking BC as well. Got a 5 in AB last year, so I’ll hopefully get at least a 3 this year. I’m still don’t really understand Lagrange error and I’m a bit shaky on polar. Just do a lot of practice problems and you should be fine.

I double the recommendation for Barron’s, it definitely provides you with excellent preparation in all of the material and only takes a short time to read through. I think as with most Barron’s books, the practice tests are harder than the real thing, but I wouldn’t know cause I’m taking it this year too. ^^ Good luck.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Keep em coming!

bump bump.

I took BC last year, did not know Lagrange error AT ALL (my teacher said it probably wouldn’t be on the test, so I didn’t even look at it). I just left that free response Q blank, and I probably missed another free response also… still got a 5. Make sure you NAIL all the AB concepts then BC should come easily, it’s not really that much more material.

^ I agree with pualalala. A lot of the exam is AB, so make sure you’re comfortable with those topics.

Sounds good. thanks!

for BC, just do FRQ probs since they’re repetitive…im sure the MC will be a joke like last yr AB’s.
lagrange error bound is only like 2 pts in the FRQ. its not a big deal. However, you must know how to expand using taylor series… they ask it 100%… all the time…
and… i dont know about psychology, i only started a lil on it, im gona cram like crazy after i take down BC :)

Yeah, I’m pretty much screwed over for Taylor Series.

I don’t have any advice for BC.

I’m currently taking AP Psychology and my advice is to cover over each topic and make sure you understand the terms.

Certain topics such as Cognitive dissonance, Solomon Asch’s theory on conformity, systematic decentralization, group polarization, schizophrenia, the different memories are almost always on the exam. Just look through each chapter, and try to know all the terms.

I still have alot of craming to do myself because I’m taking 4 AP exams. Only 1-2 weeks left. Good luck bro. :)

~ Theos Rizos

“Solomon Asch’s theory on conformity”

heh?

I’m selfstudying calc right now. I took a look at last year’s exam and there were only one mult choice question that I would probably just skip (the others seemed very easy). Some free response things I’m a little shaky with, but then again, I only do all six questions in about 15 minutes total and don’t check my work. So I’m sure that I’ll have much more time on the exam.
