Tips for Juniors with bad SAT score

Hello everyone!!

I was wondering if you guys (obviously all geniuses) could give me some tips and recommendations for what I should do about my terrible SAT score. I have great extra curriculars, great SAT II scores, great GPA, close to the top of my class, will have good rec's (I hope), but I feel like the SAT I is killing me. I was shocked when I received the score. I got an 1870 (W:680, C:570, M:620). I still don't know how that happened. I want to get in great colleges, but I feel like the SAT is what is going to prevent me from getting in. Thanks for all the help!

There is a wealth of advice here: [SAT Preparation - College Confidential](SAT Preparation - College Confidential Forums). Also, consider trying the ACT.

take the ACT!

Either choose the ACT or cram for the SAT over the summer and take it in October.

if it’s your first time taking them, maybe you were just really nervous. Were you getting much higher results on your practice tests?

Thank you!!! Passed 2100!!!

^ Congratulations! That’s quite a significant improvement. :)
