Hey guys, this is my first year taking an AP test so I’m desperate for some study tips.
I found two books that people recommended me a lot, which were AMSCO and Essential Content (Larry Krieger). I tried to read both books but I thought AMSCO was too much info and I thought I would forget as I read new chapters.

So would reading just the Essential Content prepare me enough to get a 5? I’m not just going to read the book but will study deeply into it.

Also, how do you write a 9-scoring essay? Help please!

Knowing important dates…or more so years…is half the battle. When you see a DBQ or FRQ and see them say a year, they say that year for a specific reason because they want something from that time to be mentioned. So for example with the 2012 DBQ https://secure-media.collegeboard.org/ap-student/pdf/united-states-history/ap-2012-united-states-history-free-response-questions.pdf they say on the DBQ 1870 and 1900 they are talking about the Gilded Age “and maybe something even more specific…its been a year since I took the exam I forget the small stuff at this point!”

Knowing the presidents some say helps quite a bit, and when they served and what order.

Thats the best tips I can give you, other than those just read the review book and know the material!
