Tips on transferring to Brown

I’m wondering if anyone has tips on transferring to Brown. I am not a part of many extracurriculars, but am learning to code in my free time and have a job. I’m looking to study and explore the intersection between art and technology, and my coursework at my current school reflects that. Brown’s open curriculum really appeals to me, and I want to be closer to my family. Any tips or advice/ what you think my chances are would be great! Thanks!

Last year (per the common data set) Brown had 81 transfer acceptances from 2293 transfer applications for a 3.5% acceptance rate so it is super competitive. You will need to have an outstanding background and meaningful reasons why you want to transfer there.

you mention having weak ECs. That is going to be a problem. At ultra-selective colleges they want strong ECs in those applying as frosh or transfers. Brown says

Since Brown’s admission process is a highly selective one, we also want to choose applicants who will add, in some concrete way, to Brown’s undergraduate community. We look for applicants with a long-term commitment to extracurricular activities who we expect will involve themselves in similar pursuits at Brown.
