Going into my junior year registration in a few days. Any tips on things that could possibly help me get into my reach school? Ap? Honors? Taking classes that pertain to my preferred major?
They want you to take the most rigorous classes, so that means AP/IB classes
Or other college-level classes.
If you want to major in biochemistry and your high school offers Honors Biochem (no AP/IB for biochem) then yes, you should/could take Honors Biochem.
Lastly, if your high school offers a wide array of AP/IB courses and you choose Honors courses instead, that might (slightly) harm your application.
Obviously you don’t have to take all APs/IB Diploma, but keep in mind many applicants are doing so, and have excellent extracurriculars as well.
It’s a tough game but GOOD LUCK! You have two years to make yourself a perfect applicant.
Advice: make yourself stand out
