Tired of waiting

Tired of waiting. Given that 30% of blankliners have already been accepted, cmu is close to their acceptance targets. Pity the reject letters- even they have to wait to be picked up by the cmu' post office.

I have to move onto start planning for admit days for the schools who have already selected me. Thanks to cmu's needlessly painful process, now I appreciate the schools who rejected me with a simple email, simulataneous online decision.

Sayonara, cmu.

I would have to agree with you… that is what I also posted a while ago.

Every other school (except WPI) has allowed me to see my decision online, even my state school (UMass). The entire mail thing is an excuse. They want us all to wait so that more of us will feel desperate to go onto thier waitlist and feel that we actually have chances.

That is absolutely right. Now, even being waitlisted seems good to me.

its really messed up for CMU to do this… why not release them all at ONCE? damn it…

At this point its probably a rejection. Oh well…

I have been just as frustrated with their process. I planned this week as if I wasn’t going to find out about CMU until April 15th. There was no way I could have possibly visited between April 15th and May 1st had I gotten in, so I went to Pittsburgh this week. Of course, I forgot the letter with the admissions id number on it. I called the office, and someone said they would email it to me. It never came. I called again and they said that they couldn’t email it. In the end, I ended up walking into the admissions office to get my id just before a tour I had signed up for. I was terrified that I was going to be rejected while standing on the campus. That whole trip would have been a waste.

I don’t understand why CMU is so much more paranoid than every other school I applied to. Everyone should be able to access their decisions at once, this means online. I can’t believe that there are still people who don’t know their decision. That is ridiculous. And I don’t understand why I had to actually walk into the admissions office to get my id when I could look through my inbox to find my id for every other school.

CMU has been cruel and it has definitely affected my opinion of the school.

@awanderer : Yes, I misunderstood when the admission lady said she would “mail” it. I interpreted “email.” However, when I called again I realized that I either had to 1. fax my information (I dont have a fax machine by the way) or 2. wait in agony for the “mail” containing an admission id to arrive from pittsburg to los angeles.

It’s just ridiculous in my opinion. I just want to KNOW the decision. I know the decisions are out already yet I still cannot check. The UCs just gave me a simple online acceptance or rejection. But CMU gave me nothing (except for bad attitude from the admission lady)

I need to know the decision to plan college visits and make the final decision.

I didn’t get a letter either, but the decision was available today online. I got rejected. I suppose they knew I had no intentions of going there. Lol. But I will enjoy myself dearly at Stanford instead :D
