***I really wanted to attend the summer program at NYU, but they didn't offer financial aid :( ...I still kept myself busy :).

I'm applying RD too, so I don't know about your chances, but I'm a coxswain so hi (:

I just got into film ED, and you have very similar stats, I think you have a wonderful chance!

thanks littlebeach! & congrats on your ED acceptance!

emstir: i used to cox, i'm a stroke now. gl to us both :)

bump for more input

tawny, academically you have the stats to be in contention. F/Tv in Tisch is probably the one Tisch department where there is some 'flexibility' in academic stats anyway. Work on your portfolio and make sure it's as good as you can possibly do, and then hope for the best. :)

I will comment, though, since you mentioned that you couldn't go to the summer program because financial aid was a concern, that the same problem may be an issue for you now, too. NYU is notoriously stingy with financial aid, and of the NYU colleges, Tisch probably offers less than any other. Not only that but Tisch is the most expensive of all the NYU colleges so just thought I'd mention that. The average financial aid award at NYU is roughly 18,000-19,000. When you figure that a year at Tisch is going to cost you roughly 45,000, that's quite a gap.

As a current film student here, I want to wish you luck tawny. I'm a freshman now, and we seem really similar in stats. I ultimately turned down havard for nyu, so if you want any advice, just pm or something.

thanks for all the input everyone..

matth: yeah i didnt apply ED cause i was so worried about the fin. aid! but i want to try and see what turns up if i can get in...i won't know otherwise.

safiamilke: nyu for harvard! congrats on just being able to do that. haha i'd probably do it too. i've got tisch and usc film over harvard right now, but then, i already qualify for a full ride at harvard soooo if i get in that might change things...? haha.
