Tisch notifying early?

Thank you for your help! and congrats hannahkailey!

My D just received this email. Does this mean what I think (hope!) it means? anyone else receive it?

Hello and greetings from NYU Undergraduate Admissions!
Last week we notified all freshman applicants of upcoming deadlines and event dates for our admissions process. Now, we write to you - and only a select group of applicants - again to remind you of our events for accepted students:
April 9-11: Events on campus for accepted students. These events are by invitation only, and RSVP instructions will be sent only to accepted applicants.
April 17-18: Events off-campus in 13 cities across the US for accepted students. These events are by invitation only, and RSVP instructions will be sent only to accepted applicants.
While your decision packet will not be mailed for another 2 weeks, it might be a good idea for you to start checking into travel plans to visit campus.
We’ll be following up with more information for you as soon as our RSVP web site is open for event registration!
NYU Undergraduate Admissions

D applied to Tisch Drama. Hasn’t heard but got email today inviting her to accepted students weekend.

austinmtmom…while I haven’t heard of that email in the past…it sure seems to imply that an invitation for accepted student events is on its way. That is how I READ it. I have no inside knowledge but just saying!!!

typicalmom, congrats to your daughter!

Thanks soozie! We read it the same way. Of course we will not throw a wild celebration party just quite yet but we are very happy. My D felt that was her best audition (and it was her last) so she would be thrilled to have NYU as an option!

Congrats to typicalmom’s D!!

I truly read it as if the invitation is on its way and the email talks about that and the RSVP site and that is only relevant to those invited to the event. So, I feel congrats are in order and I know your D has sweated it out and good things come to those who wait. WooHoo!

called tisch and they said it means you are in but cannot be sure what studio…

Correct…official acceptances come around April 1 but they also don’t indicate which studio you will be placed in. The studio notification comes about one week after the admissions notification (early April).

if you only want the musical theatre program and don’t find out until that late, why/how can you go to the accepted students invitation?

My D found out her studio BEFORE attending the accepted student event (granted only about a week beforehand). But many are interested enough to attend the event and interested in Tisch no matter what studio they are placed at. The accepted student event is informative. But you should know your studio before you arrive at it anyway.

Are ALL the emails for the accepted students event sent out today or do they come in waves? Can one assume if you have not received an email at this time, you probably are not getting one?

There is no way to really answer you. All other years, the invitations came out in snail mail at one time. This is the first time I have seen them send an email. I have to assume they sent these all at one time and not in waves but cannot prove that to you.

Thx Soozie

Alexa, I am so proud of you! I knew that it would be a thumbs up. No email for J, but maybe he will get one for acting. Hats off my dear! XO

^^^^^
Thank you 2dogs1cat!! Super excited here. But tell J I am keeping my fingers crossed for him too!!! It is an amazing option to have.

Alexa…things have turned around for you, girl! Go celebrate!

I got an email also but on the 11th about the admissions accepted student day. except mine was not that specific like austinmtmom saying like -and only a select group of applicants- but mine was still very similar. does this mean i got in also?

Below please find important dates to keep you informed on our admissions process. This information is being sent to ALL freshman applicants to New York University for Fall 2010.

April 1-2: Admissions decisions expected to arrive in applicant mailboxes.

May 1: Deadline to accept admission, if offered. Candidate Reply Forms and tuition deposits are due.

We hope this information is helpful to you. We will be in touch within the next few weeks with the decision on your application for admission.

what about transfers? Are we supossed to get theses student invites too??

I know the app for transfers is not due till April 1st, but are we gonna get something like this?

Stacey:
No, that is not the same email. That email went out to ALL freshmen applicants. It is just information and not any reflection of your admissions decision.

The email sent today was sent to select applicants who will be invited to an accepted student event and will eventually be receiving an acceptance decision.

anmjbfilm:
I don’t think transfers would get this invitation to the accepted student event as the application due date is not even here yet (they don’t accept on a rolling basis) and their notification date of decisions isn’t until May 1. So, I really doubt any transfers could have gotten this email or will be invited to the accepted student event.

if i did not get a specific email like that today
does that mean i did not get accepted?
