To all of Stanford waitlistees?`

I also got waitlisted off of Stanford’s waitlist…haha.

*Sigh we’re so close!

OMG, this is killing me. Sorry for freaking out. I just can’t believe this!! I feel like I’m in purgatory.

I just got into Stanford :).

Congrats everyone!

i also just got rewaitlisted off the wait list… >< grr, i don’t know how to feel, guess a few more weeks of stresssss

I think everyone is re-waitlisted if they didn’t get in. =/ I am, also.

^Yeah, did anyone actually get rejected?

really? yeah…<_< it does seem like a lot so far. 5 ppl already and only just on this page

I’m also on the extended waitlist. I don’t appreciate how they’re making us wait this long xP

The real question now is how many are they going to take off of the “extended” waitlist. I’m guessing most of the 85 spots are going to fill in…Or perhaps those 85 have already fallen in love with the schools they already got into and won’t go to Stanford after all. Any predictions?

sigh Another few weeks of waiting.

i got in too :]

extended waitlist as well.

so it seems no one was actually rejected?

It seems as though they are sending out some of their decisions today.

I got in! =)

uggh i got the extended waitlist email too, if they are going to reject me, why can they just do it now!!!

i got in! i wish they’d give us our finaid package with the email…
And we only have until the 20th to decide! *** man!

Yeah, extended waitlist, too. Some of you extended WL guys did get the interest email, right? I don’t think anyone was rejected though, looks more like everyone else was put on the extended waitlist.

I am not a college applicant but rather the parent of one who is on the extended waitlist. I suspect I am not alone in thinking that Stanford would do well to craft more carefully its email correspondence to waitlistees. At this point, most waitlisted students have been admitted to other colleges and universities that they are content, if not thrilled, to attend. Regardless, receiving emails informing them that they are one of just “a few” being considered for admission to Stanford throws everything into a tailspin (understandably, the focus is on the fact that they are one of “the few” and not on the statement that there are “no guarantees”). Days later, the student finds that he/she is not chosen but 85(!) others are. If all the admissions folks want is to gauge interest, then why not just ask the question and omit wording that seems designed to raise the hopes of the waitlistees?
