My counselor told me that when she spoke to my area officer that she told her that I was 1 of 6 from my region. I’m from Louisiana, and I’m not sure what other regions DeAngela Wallace covers if that sheds any light for some people. Btw how does fin aid work with Stanford’s waitlist. Does one find out how much they get once they are admitted?

@ sapphire_ocean: Although, as a fellow waitlistee, my word is probably a bit optimistically biased, I don’t think that’s necessarily the case. From what I’ve gathered the contact so far is still just a confirmation of interest, no real acceptances yet. I still think it’s entirely possible that this might be a matter of individual admissions officer preference or their time schedule. Now if someone else from the same region as you HAS heard, then what you’re saying probably holds true… But so far there are officers who no one has heard anything from, for example, and so there might still be some hope left! :)

^thanks for the hope, im in southern sd, so i dont know, we’ll see, worse comes to worse i’ll be a bruin, and thats no so bad =] hope we get in guys!

I just got an email that included this paragraph:

“I am writing to update you regarding your status on our waitlist. We were recently able to offer admission to 85 students from our waitlist and those candidates have already been notified by email. Although we were not able to include you in that group, we would like to keep your application on the waitlist for future consideration. Because we expect some of our peer institutions to make offers of admission from their waitlists, and because not all those recently offered admission may acccept [<—OMG TYPO] their place in the class, the possibility still exists that space may become available at Stanford for this fall.”
